Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) is a National Programme implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Science and
Technology Govt. of India, attraction of talent amongst students to study Science and pursue career with research. INSPIRE Programme cover students in the age group of 10 to 32 years, and has 5 components. The first component viz, INSPIRE Award is implemented centrally through the state Council for Science and Technology. Under this scheme, two students are selected from each school of the country including private schools, for an Inspire Award of Rs. 5000/- for preparing a science project/model. These awardees, who are students from classes 6th to 10th, then participate in a 3- tier component, at District, State and National Level.
In the state of Uttarakhand INSPIRE Award Scheme has been implemented on 2010 by Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology Dehradun, through SCERT (State Council of Education research & Training, School Education, Govt. of Uttarakhand). As on date 7400 students have been selected for INSPIRE Award from the state. Similarly, out of 25 projects which has participated in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition at Pragati Maidan New Delhi. In all above National Level Competition Ayush Garg, Dehradun (1st NLEPC), Roshan Pant Pithoragarh (2nd NLEPC), Kapil Chand Pithoragarh (3rd NLEPC), and Subhash Kothiyal Tehri Garhwal (4th NLEPC), are prevail first position from the states scenario.
Under the programme, Kapil Chand, Class 11th Govt. Inter College, Kamleshwar, Pithoragarh will participate in the SAKURA Exchange programme, at Japan from 9-16 may 2015. To share the experiences of school children from Asian countries, Japan Government has initiated this programme since 2014. Kapil Chand is among the 30 selected students who are going to visit Japan. Earlier in 2013 Kapil Chand was selected in the National INSPIRE Award for his novel model on Hydraulic Bridge.
