Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India and Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun jointly organized ‘Vigyan Utsav’ STI for Atma Nirbhar Bharat as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav through online mode on 15th Nov, 2021 on a Theme “R&D Infrastructure”. Dr D.P.Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST Dehradun gave a welcome address and coordinated the whole session. Dr Rajendra  Dobhal, Director General, UCOST, Dehradun Delivered a inaugural address on ‘R&D infrastructure in the State’. He enlightened on the Agricultural, Herbal, Petroleum & other R&D institute/Organization/Universities in the Uttarakhand State. He told that IPR make an important role in the development of Nation.  In the Special Address, Dr N.K.Upreti, Scientist ‘G’, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun told about the R&D initiatives taken by their institutes under the Aegis of ICFRE, Dehradun & MEOF, GoI, New Delhi.  Er. Kireet Kumar, Director, GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, Kosi Katarmal delivered a talk on ‘S&T Infrastructure for Sustainable Development in IHR’. He briefed about the project running at GBPNIHE in collaborations with the others S&T and R&D institutions in the state. He enlightened on the progress of GBPNIHE so far in the field of Himalayan Development. He also told that Ecology, Economy and Society are the integral part of development. Dr Aparna Sharma, Sr. Scientific Officer, UCOST, Dehradun gave a brief presentation on ‘R&D Infrastructure and council Initiatives’. She highlighted various program and R&D progress so far by the council. Dr D.P.Uniyal delivered a vote of thanks to all the speakers and participants for attending the session. He also thanks to Dr. Debapriya Dutta, Advisor, DST, GoI, New Delhi; Dr Rashmi Sharma, Scientist E, DST, GoI, New Delhi, Dr Ravikant Prajapati, Scientist, DST, GoI, New Delhi; and Dr Narottam Sahoo, Scientist from Gujarat S&T Council  for joining this session.
