Celebration of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) 2022 at Vigyan Dham, Dehradun on 26th Apr, 2022
A celebration of World Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) day, was organized on 26th April 2022 by Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) in Regional Science Center (RSC) at Vigyan Dham. Dr Kailash Bhardwaj, Incharge Regional Science Center, in his inaugural address emphasized on protection of scientific, industrial, literary and artistic creations. He explained the means and procedures to safeguard these creations. He gave numerous examples from music industry, film industry and geographical indications from India and abroad. Further, a popular lecture was delivered by Siddhant Uniyal on Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights. He spoke about different forms of Intellectual Property Rights and gave detailed information about what is a difference between discovery and invention. Lead speaker Sh. G. S. Rautela, Advisor, Science City, elaborated on the topic of Innovations. Further, he spoke on how to analyse science in everyday life and said that this analysis will lead to future inventions. The tag line of his lecture is that do inventions for the benefit of society. Finally, demo of DNA isolation has been done by Dr. Kailash Bhardwaj, Scientific Officer. He also proposed the vote of thanks to Faculty members, students of DAV (PG) College and Alpine Institute, and to UCOST staff for attending the lecture
