Council organized Vigyan Utsav on a theme “Science & Society” as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 22nd Apr, 2022 on the occasion of Earth Day-22 in collaboration with DST, GoI, New Delhi through online mode. Dr Debapriya Dutta, Advisor SEED & SSTP, DST, GoI, New Delhi delivered inaugural address on societal and economic development. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General UCOST, Dehradun told about the environment sustainability & economic development. Dr. Aparna Sharma, Sr. Scientific Officer, UCOST delivered a talk on “Science & Society: Perspective of Uttarakhand” and also coordinated the session. The panel experts, Dr. Lalit Pandey, President, Sewa Nidhi, Almora; Dr. B.M. Pandey, ICAR-VIPKAS, Almora; Dr Mahendra Singh Kunwar, HARC, Dehradun; Shri Amardev Dobhal, Sarswati Jan Kalyan Sansthan, Dehradun shared their view on societal programs and its importance. Dr Aparna Sharma, Senior Scientific Officer, UCOST gave a vote of thanks to all the speakers and participants. Dr Rashmi Sharma, Scientist E, DST, GoI; Dr Ravikant Prajapati, Scientist, DST, GoI; participation from & different councils, CDAC ,Scientists, Faculty members, Researchers,Young Entrepreneurs, Students, UCOST staff etc. were present during the program.
