Preparatory meet for celebration of Science Week Festival proposed on 22-28 Feb 2022 with VigyanPrasar, Noida through virtual mode on 07th feb 2022.

Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST) is a nodal agency of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt of India (GoI). Council organizes various programs like promotion of S&T in the state, extension, technology transfer and field demonstration of location specific technologies and popularization of science. Specifically, Council run following programs: Research Development and Demonstration; Science Popularization and Science City S&T Based Entrepreneurship Development Program; Science & Society Program for Women & Weaker Section; and Himalayan System Science in coordination with DST, GoI. A meeting cum webinar was organized by VigyanPrasar DST, GoI on 07Th feb 2022 with all Northern states along with their partner Institutes to discuss about celebration of “Science week Festival” proposed on 22 Feb – 28 Feb 2022. The opening ceremony of the week long program would be held on 22nd Feb and valedictory program will be organized on 28th Feb. Dr D.P Uniyal, Joint Director, Dr Aparna Sharma, Senior Scientific Officer and Sh HimanshuGoel, Scientist-B, UCOST attended this meeting on behalf of Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST). Shri Nimish kapoor from VigyanPrasar gave a detailed presentation about the organization of the program and how all the states should replicate the same. Also, in his detailed presentation, day-wise program was briefed to all partner institutes. Further, program will be held at 75 locations all over the country and include various programs like lectures, short films, radio talks, posters, books etc.In the end of meeting, team of VigyanPrasaraddressed various issues of all states and answered their queries. In the end, Dr B.K Tyagi,  Former Scientist, VigyanPrasar thanked all the participants.
