A NASI popular lecture was held at Vigyan Dham, Jhajhra, UCOST, Dehradun on the topic “Lesson to learn to post COVID situation in Indian Scenario” by Dr Sanjeev Misra, Director, AIIMS Jodhpur

On 26 November 2021 a NASI popular lecture was held at Vigyan Dham, Jhajhra, UCOST, Dehradun on the topic “Lesson to learn to post COVID situation in Indian Scenario” by Dr Sanjeev Misra, Director, AIIMS Jodhpur, which was organised by Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) and National Academy of Sciences (NASI, UK- Chapter).  Dr B. R. Arora (Former Director Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology) delivered the Introductory Address. He introduces all the distinguished guests and talked about the scientific activities done by NASI-UK Chapter. Dr Rajendra Dobhal (Director General UCOST) delivered the welcome address and gave a detailed overview of scientific activities and events organised by UCOST and NASI UK-Chapter. Dr Sanjeev Misra talked on gap areas of the Indian Health Care System, Urban and Rural Discrepancy in Health care infrastructure and the importance of the right to health for every individual. He said that we need initiatives like Branded Clinics and operative models like Urbanization of Health Care Services. He said that it is an opportunity to boost our Domestic manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sector which will boost our economy as well as Health Care Facilities. He also said we need to introduce Home Health Care Solutions as the elderly population in India is increasing. He introduces four start-ups mentored by AIIMS, Jodhpur and collaborative program in Medical Technology by IIT- AIIMS, Jodhpur (Rajasthan). He said that a strong health system is essential for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Prof. A. N. Purohit said that the COVID-19 pandemic changed the doctor-patient relationship although health will always remain an individual responsibility. He talked about plant-based RNA Viruses and related research articles which can be helpful in curing in diseases related to viruses. Dr Dobhal talked about issues of medical emergency diseases and patenting of technology and processes related to them. A vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. A. N. Purohit (Padam Shri and Former VC H. N. B. Garhwal University).This event was coordinated by Dr D. P. Uniyal (Joint Director UCOST). Dr Rajendra Dobhal (Director General, UCOST), Dr D. P.
