Dr. Kirti Joshi

Dr. Kirti Joshi, Ph.D. in Pathology from Forest Research Institute has 13 years experience on S&T policy, Intellectual Property and innovation-related studies. For the past few years she has been engaged in STS allied studies especially in the areas of Intellectual property, innovations, technology transfer, women & weaker section and policies across various sectors. She is an IP expert entailing in conducting patent searches, generating awareness and facilitating in IP filings.

Earlier at CSIR-National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies, New Delhi, she has contributed in the much acclaimed "India S&T 2008, 2012, 2014" on themes such as foodgrains: seeds development & production, GM crops, mushrooms, Indian herbal sector, food standards, energy research, forestry etc. Additionally, she has also been a team member for developing scientific & technical reports for organizations & departments like SAC-PM; PSA office, FICCI & ILO. She is a member of reviewing committee of international & national journals too and reviewed a book for Current Science. She has authored/ co-authored approximately 50 refereed publications, which include 34 book chapters (published by Cambridge University Press & Springer) and government publications, and have made over 40 presentations at national and international scientific meetings and workshops. She is a life member of Indian Science Congress Association & Indian Phytopathology.

Currently at UCOST, she is In-charge of Travel grants; Women & Weaker section Division and Web Management Cell & attached to DG Secretariat. In addition to this, she is also the PI of three projects namely NSTMIS, DST, GoI sponsored project on 'Assessing the participation of Women in S&T in University system of 6 northern states' ; NCSTC, DST, GoI sponsored project on 'Ignited minds training camp' and NRDC, DSIR sponsored four workshops 'Harnessing Intellectual Property & Its Management for Growth and Prosperity'
